It is too lonely to live in one's own time, and fiction allows one to enter the time and space of others. Of course, in reality, we can also enter other people's lives, but it's exhausting and easy to make mistakes. In a novel everything is different, the imaginary story doesn't haunt us. As soon as it's finished, the writer is free. Writing is sometimes a kind of companionship, so that a sensitive and fragile heart always wants to find someone to walk with it on its way, sharing the same joys and similar sorrows.
